[Marine]. MOITOIRET DE BLAINVILLE (Antoine). Traité de la jauge de la marine, ou Jaugeage des vaisseaux de guerre, navires, galiotes... A Rouen, chez J.-B. Besongne, 1728. In-12, 82 p., [3] f. (privil.), pl., figs, contemporary havana calf, smooth spine, garnet-red morocco title page, red edges (spine gilt, corners dull, slight soiling). New edition of this treatise originally published in 1698; it contains in particular "observations on the magnetized needle". The illustration, entirely wood-engraved, comprises 10 figures in the text and 2 fold-out plates. Provenance: cadet Colin in Santigny (Yonne, 18th c.), then Alfred Colin 1869 (handwritten bookplates).
