It includes a map, 2 hors-texte plans (Malmaison and Ermenonville); an engraved title illustrated with a vignette, a vignette on the printed title, 112 hors-texte garden views, 1 topography plate, 2 plates comprising 8 system figures showing the transformation of the gardens represented; all views and vignettes are engraved on steel after drawings by Constant Bourgeois.
