Three volumes in-4, 2 of them entirely composed of chromolithographs, bound in full red morocco, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title and subtitle, double gilt fillet at edges, interior lace, gilt edges; and one volume of text illustrated with photographic reproductions, bound in half-maroquin with corners, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title and subtitle, gilt edges (slight rubbing at edges, sustained browning in text volume). A splendid publication richly illustrated with borders, miniatures and vignettes, based on the iconography of medieval manuscripts. A fine, well-bound copy (Vicaire III, 322).
