Rare Chinese painted silk and brocade cope, circa 1750-1760, all in predominantly blue, cream and green blue, cream and green for Laetare and Gaudete Sundays. Satin painted with peony scrolls; chaperon and orphreys with similar decoration in polychrome silk lampas, blade and gold and silver thread. Gold threaded braid around the edge, buckram lining. A few accidents. L. 275 H. 132 cm
