Louis XV period molded wood armchair stamped F. Foliot. With finely molded flat back, it rests on cambered legs. Royal furniture repository inventory number in brush, probably Du dy n°10 -4-. H. 92 W. 66 D. 53 cm François Foliot received his master's degree in 1749. Certainly delivered for a royal residence between 1750 and 1770, it can be compared with a chair by François Foliot delivered in 1753 for Fontainebleau (Mobilier National, inv. GME-1650-001, fig. 4) and a pair of armchairs by Nicolas-Quinibert Foliot delivered in 1762 for Versailles (Getty Museum, inv. 76.DA.76, fig. 5).
