[Jansenism]. [Bible. N.T. Français]. Le Nouveau Testament de Nôtre Seigneur Jesus-Christ, traduit en franc̜ois selon l'edition vulgate, avec les différences du grec. Nouvelle edition. A Mons, chez G. Migeot, [ca. 1668]. Two volumes in-8, [22] f., 538 p., [1] f. bl. + 462 p., [6] f., period red morocco, spines with 5 nerves, gilt title and tomaison, decorated caissons with small irons, boards edged with a triple fillet with filigree angular fleurons, all gilt, gilt fillet at the necks and chasses, embossed and gilt paper linings and endpapers, gilt edges (small snag to the upper board t.1, very slight scratch on t.2; small sporadic halo in margin). A fine copy of one of the earliest forgeries of the Port-Royal religious translation. Enriched with a copper-engraved frontispiece by Sauvé, which usually belongs to one of the 1697 editions. The paper for the linings and endpapers comes from Georg Christoph Stoy's mill in Augsburg. At the end of t.1, enriched with 5 manuscript pages from the period offering biblical references.
