[Sixteenth-century book]. [DU VAIR (Guillaume)]. [Harangues, Eloquence, Arrests ; Recueil réunissant trois ouvrages]. A Paris, chez Abel l'Angelier, 1606. Three works in a large volume in-8, [2] f. (title, table and privil. in v°), 144-196 p., contemporary red morocco, smooth muted spine, boards and spine bordered with double gilt fillet, gilt edges, traces of laces, some parts restored (some rubbing, not serious, including to upper jaw, small spots on boards; russeting and browning, small marginal wetness). First collective edition of works by Guillaume Du Vair (1556-1621), president of the Parlement de Provence. A pleasant, well-bound copy of the first three volumes, which were followed in the same year by two others containing works of piety and philosophical works.
