[LONGUE (Louis Pierre de)]. Les princesses malabares, ou Le célibat philosophique.... A Amsterdam, aux dépens de la Compagnie, 1735. In-12, [7] f., 202 p., [3] f., brown morocco with corners, 5-nerved spine, gilt title, fleurons and date, double gilt fillet to covers, gilt edges [Petit succr de Simier]. A fine copy, perfectly established by the Petit bookbinder, of this utopian tale set in India, in which the relationships between men and women are a pretext for evoking all kinds of contemporary issues. This key book, whose names are listed at the end of the volume, was condemned to the fire as soon as it appeared in 1734. Carefully produced Dutch counterfeit, including the key.
