Lugduni, apud J. Frellon, 1561. Three parts in one large folio, [16] f., 976 col. (t.1) ; [4] f., 1578 col., [1] f. (t.2) ; [96] f. (index), contemporary fawn calf, 6-rib spine, gilt fleurons, title on ms. etiquette, double framing of the boards with 3 cold fillets, with 4 angular fleurons and a central medallion in gilt (lack of cover on the spine, very worn edges and corners, mq. upper guard, title a little faded, angular wetness from t.2 p. 140 to end, more extensive on index). Edition by Hieronymus Gemuseus (Mulhouse, 1505 - Basel, 1544), physician, professor of rhetoric and logic at the Faculty of Medicine in Turin, then professor of physics at the University of Basel. Carefully printed in Lyon by typographer Symphorien Barbier, with a number of woodcut figures inserted in the text or margins. Mark of Jean Frellon on each title, woodcut initials. [Sign. alpha-beta 8, a-z 8, A-F 8, G-H 6; aa-zz 8, Aa-Zz 8, AA-DD 8; a-m 8]. (mm5 here in duplicate, Cc out of order). Some old annotations in margin at very beginning of volume.
