Jérôme Legrand (born in 1952) - Lot 42
Jérôme Legrand (born in 1952) The Yellow Line, 2016 Galerie Sphère 100 x 80 Roy Sfeir, who also paints under the pseudonym Jérôme Legrand, is a self-taught contemporary painter born in Beirut in 1952 and based in France since 1976. After a brief figurative period during which he painted the city and crowds, he quickly turned to abstract art. His work draws its roots from emotion, intuition, and the constant movement of inner landscapes. He paints in layers—veils of diluted acrylic, water, and chance—allowing each stroke to reveal new depths of light, rhythm, and texture. Abstraction is his language: a space where memory, nature, and instinct coexist without the need for a defined subject. Vertical bands, luminous transparencies, and shifting fields of color often evoke the natural world, while remaining entirely free of any representation. What emerges is a balance between control and spontaneity, between what is hidden and what chooses to reveal itself. Value: €3,500 DONATED BY THE SAMAGRA GALLERY AND THE ARTIST
