Drawn from life by F. Benoist and lithographed by leading Parisian artists; the costumes were drawn and lithographed by H. Lalaisse. Nantes, Charpentier, 1854–1855. 2 folio vols., multiple pagination, midnight blue half-calf, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title and volume number, rampant lion repeated in fleurons, gilt coat of arms at the bottom of the spines (slight rubbing; water stains at the beginning of the text for Seine-Inf. and on 5 plates; missing the map, some plates, and a few pages of text). A luxurious, monumental panorama of the 5 departments of Normandy, illustrated with numerous lithographs. This copy contains: Eure, 24 plates out of 25; Orne, 20 plates out of 21; Manche, 16 plates out of 17; Calvados, 27 plates out of 30; Seine-Inférieure: 29 plates out of 33.
