Albert LEBOURG (1849–1928), French Impressionist painter. Si - Lot 134
Albert LEBOURG (1849–1928), French Impressionist painter. Signed autograph letter addressed to a “Dear Sir.” Paris, Friday, May 25, 1900. 2 pages, in-12 format (slightly folded in four, ink faded on a few letters). The painter says he is “at a loss as to what price to ask for these old studies from Algeria,” and adds: “Since I have made a commitment not to sell them until some of my friends have seen them, I will not put any up for sale until further notice [Lebourg stayed in Algeria between 1872 and 1876]. He notes that he had mentioned this very morning to the attendant at the Algerian pavilion [probably at the Paris World’s Fair]. He asks where he can obtain a ticket for the Orientalists’ exhibition.
