Francis TAILLEUX (1913-1981) Presumed portrait of the artist, painting Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 36 lower right. Signed on the back. 32 x 24 cm Provenance: Jacques-Émile Blanche; by descent to the present owners. Francis Tailleux spent his childhood in Dieppe, where his father owned the Hôtel Métropole. It was there that he met Jacques-Émile Blanche, who recognized his talent as a painter at the age of 17 and encouraged him to pursue this path. Tailleux painted a portrait of Blanche, which he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne.
